What type of candles would you like to make?
Container candles. Candles that are made by pouring wax into a container that it will remain in while it is being burned (ie jar candles). Waxes meant for container candles are generally softer with a lower melting point.
Free-standing candles. A candle that will be made by pouring wax into a mould and then removed for burning (ie pillar candles). Waxes meant for free-standing candles are harder waxes with higher melting points.
What type of wax would you like to use for your container candle?
Soy wax. A vegetable wax that is made from the oil of soybeans. It is all natural, renewable and sustainable making it a very popular wax to use.
Paraffin wax. A white odourless substance that is a natural by-product of the petroleum refining process. It offers superior scent and colour retention unmatched by any other wax.
Coconut wax. A colorless and odorless wax made from cold-pressed coconut meat or coconut oil mixed with a small amount of soy wax in order to make it more solid.
What type of wax would you like to use for your free-standing candle?
Beeswax wax. A hard and sticky wax secreted by bees to make honeycombs. It comes in natural yellow or bleached white.
Palm wax. A natural plant wax that is made from the tropical palm plant that comes in granular form. It will make very hard candles with a sparky frosted finish when not mixed with other waxes.
